Jasmine Straga is a dedicated, multifaceted performing arts professional skilled across all areas of circus events/circus community management, as Executive Producer, Creative Director, Choreographer, Marketing Lead, and Operations Manager. She holds an exceptional record of fundraising and for generating valuable sponsorships and strategic partnerships. A motivated, energetic individual committed to the advancement of Oceania and the global circus arts sector.
History
Jasmine currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Federation Mondiale du Cirque Under the presidency and patronage of H.S.H. Princess Stephanie of Monaco and is Founding Director of the Australian Circus Festival. Jasmine studied dance, theatre and gymnastics at the Prestigeous McDonald College of Performing Arts and later toured the world as a contortionist, aerialist and dancer with both classical and contemporary shows.
She opened Gala Entertainment Management in San Diego in 2005, which quickly grew to one of the world’s largest entertainment agencies for circus, dancers and musicians. Jasmine directed Australian Institute of Circus Arts and Coffs Harbour PCYC Rhythmic Gymnastics Club from 2007-2010, until she made a move to Asia where she Co-Directed R Empire & GAM in Macau and Singapore. With these companies, she created shows, events and contracted artists for companies such as Macau City Fringe Festival, City of Dreams Casino, Costa Cruises, Hard Rock Hotel, Venetian Casino, Marina Bay Sands, Dragone, Resorts World Sentosa, and more. Jasmine was Talent & PR Manager for Asia's largest entertainment & nightlife company at the time LifeBrandz PTE LTD/Cannery Leisure.
In 2011 Jasmine creative directed 3 shows touring France, has worked on the organising committee of the Great Wall Cup, China, and the Macau City Fringe Festival and has sat as a judge/jury member for prestigious circus festivals in France, Russia, China, Spain, Italy, Belarus and Bulgaria. Since returning to Australia in 2013 she has been running the Australian Circus Festival and J.S. Creations, creating boutique acts for Europe's leading circuses, varieties and cabarets and was recently nominated for best choreographer/Creative director for the International Circus Masters Awards in Sochi, Russia. Her graduating students have worked in Cirque du Soleil, Roncalli, Friedrichsbau Variete, G.O.P variety, Circus Krone, Circus FlicFlac, Wintergarten Variety, Salto Natale, Palazzo Dinner Theatre, Hans Klok, Moulin Rouge, Arlette Gruss, G.O.P. Variety and have gone onto winning many international awards in Monaco, Italy, Spain, Russia, Japan, China, Belarus and more.
